Khosi Dali – Sunshine Cinema (Cape Town)
Through screening various types of dynamic educational, interactive content, & media training workshops, SUNSHINE CINEMA address social and environmental challenges through community partnerships. Since 2013 they have screened to over 8000 direct audience members across Southern Africa.
Anita Khanna (Gauteng)
Anita Khanna studied screenwriting in the UK and started scripting documentaries in 2002. Anita’s writing and producing credits include: Born into Struggle, Bushman’s Secrets, Miners Shot Down, The Giant Is Falling. She produced and co-directed the Alexandra My Alexandra history documentary series and wrote and produced an award winning feminist drama series, Mating Game (SABC). She was the Outreach Director of the first satellite version of The Good Pitch that took place in Johannesburg in 2011. Anita is the director of the Tri Continental Social Impact Film Festival and watches hundreds of documentaries each year to put together a programme that speaks to the most urgent issues facing southern African audiences with a view to developing new audiences for documentary. Anita is also an award winning Impact Producer (BritDoc Impact Award 2015).

Elaine Maane – STEPS (Cape Town)
Maane has been part of the STEPS team for over 10 years, as the regional training officer and a mother to one. In 2009, Maane wrote a book about herself through which she talks about being a single parent. Maane states “As a woman activism comes naturally to me. I am passionate about people and creating platforms to talk about change and taking responsibility. At STEPS, I continue my activism through working with various communities in the seven countries we have partnered with to impact change using facilitated film screenings. At home, I unwind by watching Tom & Jerry”
Liani Maasdorp (Cape Town)
Liani Maasdorp is a senior lecturer in the Centre for Film and Media Studies at the University of Cape Town. She convenes the Master of Documentary Arts degree programme and is the academic director of the UCT TV Studio and Stepping Stone community engagement video training programme and co-founder of the ScreenCubator film and media talent developer. Recent documentary work includes producer of Strike a Rock (Audience award: Encounters International Documentary Film Festival 2017; official selection: IDFA 2017) and executive producer of Finding Freedom (official selection: Durban International Film Festival 2016). Liani previously worked as a documentary editor and television director.
